The Summer Term

Every school holiday, we open the doors to our magical boutique shop to teach the next generation the real secrets of artisan chocolate crafting. This summer, we’ve put together a spectacular 6-week program featuring hands-on creative freedom, and—of course—plenty of delicious, premium chocolate. Explore our weekly themes below, choose your canvas size, and secure your place in our little Chocolate Factory!

• 📍 Location: Cocoa Wonderland, Ecclesall Road, Sheffield.

• 🕒 Duration: 40 minutes - 1 hour per session.

• 🧒 Age Guidance: Recommended for ages 5+ (younger ones are welcome but they'll need an extra helping hand from you)

• 🎟️ Flexible Tiers: Every workshop features 3 ticket sizes to fit all ages and appetites (70g Lollipop, 100g Slab, or 250g Grand Canvas).

• 📆 Flexible Dates: Our 3 themes happen twice across the holidays, so you never have to miss out on the fun!

The Cocoa Wonderland Difference: We strictly limit our sessions to a maximum of just 3 makers per slot. This ensures a peaceful, magical, and personal experience—far away from the hustle and bustle of the high street. 

A Note on Supervision: To ensure our mini makers have the most magical experience, we ask that all children are accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workshop. It’s a lovely chance to watch their creativity in action (and perhaps enjoy a hot chocolate from the counter while they work!).

Theme 1: The Chocolate Seashore Studio

• Week 1: 21st July – 25th July

• Week 4:11th - 15th August

• Ready to dive into a delicious ocean of creativity this summer holiday? Wash ashore at Cocoa Wonderland for a magical, beach-themed chocolate masterclass!

• In Weeks 1 and 4 of the summer break, we are turning our little shop into a beautiful coastal paradise. This time, we are working with rich, creamy white chocolate to help our junior chocolatiers mix, marble, and create their very own edible under-the-sea worlds!

The Artisan Craft:

• Every child will start with a smooth, melted canvas of our signature white chocolate. Then, the real alchemy begins! We will provide each little creator with a bowl of natural blue spirulina powder so they can mix and swirl their own vibrant, turquoise ocean waves directly into the chocolate base.

• Design Your Beach: Once their custom ocean is swirled, they will decorate their shorelines using a treasure trove of treats.

• Coastal Toppings: We will have a bounty of sea shells, sweet chocolate pebbles, crunchy edible "sand" biscuits, and gummy sealife creatures to bring their seaside scenes to life!

Theme 2: The Lion’s Mane Masterclass​

• Week 2: 28th July-1st August

• Week 5:18th-22nd August

• Roar into summer with a wildly delicious chocolate adventure at Cocoa Wonderland! After exploring the incredible Pride of Yorkshire sculpture trail around the city, join us to reward your paws with some delicious chocolate-making and learn how to craft our very own edible Kings of the Jungle.

• Not only will your junior chocolatiers create a spectacular chocolate masterpiece, but they’ll also be doing something amazing for our local community—50p from every single ticket sold will be donated directly to the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity!

The Artisan Craft:

• Using smooth, melted milk chocolate, the children will learn how to expertly pipe a lion’s head. Then, the real fun begins as they build up a magnificent, wild lion’s mane! Using a combination of crunchy chocolate curls, chocolate shapes, and edible eyes, they will style their lion's face and give their creature its own unique personality.

Theme 3: The Pop-Art Chocolate Studio!

• Week 3: 4th - 8th August

• Week 6:25th - 29th August

• Looking for the ultimate creative treat this summer holiday? Step inside the magical world of Cocoa Wonderland for a chocolate masterclass like no other!

• In Weeks 3 and 6 of the summer holidays, we are turning our little shop into a vibrant Pop-Art Chocolate Studio. We are teaching our junior chocolatiers a real artisan secret: how to paint beautiful, glossy masterpieces directly onto chocolate using edible cocoa butter paint!

The Artisan Craft:

• Each child will receive a special parchment paper "canvas." Using their cocoa butter colour palettes, they will paint their very own designs

• Get Creative: Children are welcome to freestyle their designs, sketch a guide first, or even bring along a simple outline drawing from home to place underneath their parchment and trace over!

• The Magic Reveal: Once their painting is ready, we will pour rich, melted milk chocolate right over the top. When it sets, the painted design magically fuses to the chocolate, leaving a perfectly smooth, high-gloss masterpiece.

• Make it POP! To stay true to the "Pop-Art" theme, every single artist gets an explosion of popping candy to sprinkle into their chocolate, making their finished artwork literally pop in their mouth!

• Tier 1: The Lollipop Canvas - 70g Chocolate Creation (£13.95) – Perfect for a quick sweet treat or younger creators.

• Tier 2: The 100g Artisan Experience (£16.95) – Our classic, most popular size. Great for detailed designs and tracing.

• Tier 3: The 250g Ultimate Takeover Grand Slab (£20.95) – A massive, thick chocolate canvas for a true masterpiece.

Looking for a Tuesday or Saturday slot?

To ensure everyone has the best experience, we release our Sweet School dates in stages! Our initial Wednesday – Friday blocks are open for booking now. If your preferred week is showing as "Sold Out," don't panic! Follow us on Instagram @cocoa_wonderland and turn on post notifications. As soon as a Wednesday–Friday block fills up, we will announce the "unlocking" of our bonus Tuesday and Saturday slots exclusively on our grid and stories!
